Briony Gorton, the owner of Talliah Rose, will be opening her first permanent clothing store at The Mall in Burnley town centre.
Thanks to her successful brand, Briony bought first four-bedroom home, which is valued more than $500k, along with a number of Range Rovers - and even two Minis for her mum.
Briony Gorton, insists that anyone can start their own business from their bedroom, even without a large investment.
Briony Gorton, says she is “excited” about the new business venture and to bring her online business into the physical world.
She said: “I am so excited to renovate this store and open our doors to you at the end of this month.
“It is so important to me that we launch our first store in the town where my love for fashion and retail all began when I was just 16.”
Briony says the clothing will be affordable and include jeans, dressed, swimwear, shoes and beyond.
She said: “It’s going to be a mixture of some of my own things and some things which have been imported but everything is of amazing quality and I am going to keep it affordable for the town as well.”
Initially, Briony didn’t plan on opening a shop and she always wanted her business to remain online - but the pandemic and lockdown changed her perception.
As a teen, Briony worked as a retail assistant in River Island, a job she held for four years.
“The main reason I have come back to this town is that I used to work in retail here as a normal sales assistant. It’s so nice to open a shop just a few stores down from where I used to work. And that’s when I realized it was the fashion industry that I really wanted to work in."
My business has gone from there. It’s just been amazing and a roller coaster journey. Now, the business ships internationally and turns over around $1.27 million a year – and they have far more than just bikinis on sale.
The business has amassed 211,000 Instagram followers while Briony herself has achieved ‘influencer’ status on her personal account, with 223,000 followers.
Briony now has plans to dominate the high street in other cities.
She said: “The goal for me is to have shops in city centers. In the future, we will be branching out into cities. Hopefully, by the end of the year, we will be opening one or two shops in city locations."
Her target was to turn over $1million by the time she was 25 - and she has now achieved her goal.
“When I was seven or eight years old I would go to car boot sales with my grandparents and would learn how to negotiate and barter as a child. It was always in me to buy and sell."
“I always loved the adrenaline rush for buying and selling, whether it's something from $50 or $5000."
Briony said: “I’m so busy I don’t really celebrate too much of the things that have happened. It’s only when I sit back and talk about it, that I think oh goodness that is quite a lot that I’ve done, I’ve never really let it sink it."
She said: “With this store and online we are aiming for $2million a year. We’ve seen quite a lot of big stores closing down on the high street and to me, that’s not screaming that the high street is dead, what’s screaming to me is it’s time for some of the big brands to be going, and some new ideas to be coming in.”
