Two young children miraculously survived a car crash that could have easily proven fatal
Toddlers Found On Highway In Diapers After Being Thrown From Flipped Car During Crash
Following a near-fatal vehicle crash, two kids were seen on camera walking down the road wearing nothing but diapers.
The two children and their father were travelling along I-10 in Texas on Sunday, August 11.
Their vehicle collided with another car.
The father and his two kids were in a Jeep that fully overturned as a result of the crash.
Despite everyone's greatest fears, the three of them amazingly survived the encounter.
Following the collision, two young children—aged one and four—were spotted roaming across the freeway in only their diapers.
This was reported by a witness who was filming the scene.
One good Samaritan is shown standing by the other child, as their father is seen running to them.
As of August 14, the Harris County Sheriff's Office reported that the two toddlers were still hospitalized.
It is not believed that the children, their father, or the people in the other car suffered any major injuries.
At the time, Ed Gonzalez, the Harris County Sheriff, tweeted: "@HCSOTexas deputies responded to a major crash on the main lanes of the East Freeway at Freeport."
"A two-car crash where one of the cars flipped over several times causing ejection."
The post continued: "The car was occupied by one adult and two children. They are being transported to a hospital. No reported injuries to the occupants in the other car."
Victor Cordova, who witnessed the events, told KTRK-TV that he immediately believed the family "were dead."
In an attempt to spread awareness of the value of buckled-up kids in car seats, he is now posting a video of the incident in which the two kids were spotted on the road.
"For parents, for everybody, even if it's a short distance, [you need] awareness. To make sure you secure your kids properly," he told the outlet.
According to ABC 7, the 25-year-old father of the two toddlers may face criminal charges for failing to properly restrain his children.
Texas child safety laws require that children under eight years old or shorter than 57 inches be secured in a car seat, while those who are older or taller should use a seatbelt.
"First offence fines for not complying with a state's child passenger safety laws vary from $10 to $500. Some states also use driver's license points as an additional penalty for noncompliance," explains the Governors Highway Safety Association.
