Actor Tom Holland has reportedly been taken to the hospital after suffering an injury while performing a stunt on the set of the next Spider-Man film.

Holland is currently in the middle of shooting the fourth installment in his Spider-Man series, officially titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Fans had already gotten a glimpse of the film earlier this year when behind-the-scenes photos and videos began circulating on social media, revealing that parts of the movie were being filmed in the UK.

Reports suggest that Holland sustained a head injury during a fall on September 19 while working on a scene at Leavesden Studios in Watford. Doctors later confirmed he had suffered a concussion.

Production was said to have been paused for the remainder of the day after the incident took place.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson spoke to The Sun about what had happened on set.

They explained: "We were called at 10.30am on Friday to attend to a patient who had sustained an injury at Leavesden Studios in Watford."

"An ambulance was sent to the scene, and the patient was transported to hospital for further care."

Meanwhile, Holland’s father, comedian Dominic Holland, also spoke about the accident during a charity dinner, mentioning that his son would need to take a break from filming “for a while” to properly recover.

Tom himself was present at the charity dinner with his fiancée Zendaya, though reports say he left earlier than planned after feeling unwell.

At this point, it is unclear how the movie’s production schedule will be handled in his absence. There are even questions about whether the film’s planned July 2026 release could be delayed as a result.

Before filming officially kicked off, Holland had spoken about how excited he was to dive back into the role, especially since there had been speculation that Spider-Man: No Way Home would mark his last outing as the beloved superhero.

In an interview with Complex, Holland shared: "It's been a really fun process developing the movie."

"It's the first time I've ever been allowed in that part of the process, and it's definitely a stressful experience. But I think where we've got to, now that we're shooting, we are shooting absolute gold."

"It's a fresh start, it really feels like we're not making the fourth movie," he explained. "We're making the first movie of the next chapter," he continued. "It's a rebirth. It's a whole new thing."

The actor also revealed that he had quietly done some research by paying attention to fan reactions from earlier movies, hoping to bring those expectations into shaping the new chapter of Spider-Man’s story.

The cast lineup for Brand New Day will see Holland reunite with Jacob Batalon and Zendaya, while also welcoming fresh faces such as Stranger Things star Sadie Sink.
