A woman from New York says her trip took an unexpected turn when airport security stopped her after finding powdered lubricant in her bag, which they believed was something far more serious. The mix-up quickly escalated into an interrogation that left her stunned.

Lana Madison, 29, explained that both she and her boyfriend were pulled aside by security staff in Mexico City after officers became suspicious of the mysterious "white powder" they discovered during screening. What was supposed to be a routine check soon turned into a stressful ordeal.

"Several of them huddled around, taking pictures and trying to figure out what it was and why we had it," Madison shared in an interview with Jam Press. "They were completely confused."

"They took us aside for 30 minutes," the model remembered, describing how long the questioning dragged on. "I thought they were overreacting and needed to calm down."

Since Madison didn’t speak Spanish, her boyfriend had to step in to explain. At one point, he was even forced to physically demonstrate its purpose so security officers could understand what the powder was actually for.

"The funny part was when he actually made a fingers-in-the-air gesture to demonstrate how it can be used," she added with amusement when recalling the odd situation.

After some time, the embarrassed security officers finally realized the powder wasn’t illegal at all, bringing the ordeal to an end. Madison, however, didn’t feel ashamed in the slightest and later explained exactly what the product was.

"It's a concentrated powder containing polyethene polymer – the same ingredient in bubble solution and slime recipes," she explained confidently. "We mix it with water to make it slippery and use it as a lubricant."

"It's easier to pack, and one bottle makes about 11 litres of lube," she continued, pointing out its practicality for traveling.

"Eventually, after a lot of discussion – and realizing that we weren't criminals – they let us keep the lube," Madison said, reflecting on the moment with a laugh. Despite being allowed to keep it, she admitted she has learned a valuable lesson from the experience.

Going forward, she said she’ll make sure to keep the powder in her checked luggage rather than her carry-on, avoiding unnecessary delays or awkward explanations during future flights.
