A waitress in Charlotte was let go from her job after a video she took in the restaurant went viral.
Anyone who's ever worked in hospitality has definitely seen their share of odd happenings, but this story from one woman really stands out.
From dealing with excessively drunk guests to managing disruptive families, being a server is definitely not a job for everyone.
Tara Bjork experienced something so bizarre during her shift that she felt compelled to capture it on video.
In her video, she explains: "OK, I'm not supposed to be making TikToks at work but this calls for it.
"I work in a nice restaurant in Charlotte and I need you guys to see what just came in the door."
She then switched her phone camera to show a man sitting at a table, his date for the evening being a blow-up doll.
Her video quickly went viral, racking up over 2.5 million views.
Despite the humor in the situation, Tara lost her job at Restoration Hardware's RH Rooftop Restaurant because of it.
In a discussion about the incident with WNCT9, Tara shared more about that evening: "I had three other tables at the time. Two of them were talking to each other about it.
"One of my coworkers' tables were giving her updates on what was happening. He was feeding her grapes at one point."
Despite being fired, Tara doesn't seem too upset.
"I knew one of two things going to happen," she explained.
"Either the video was going to get no views and I would be fine, or it was going to blow up and I was going to have to deal with some consequences."
The man who brought the blow-up doll as his date has been identified as Henry Herrera.
He explained that the date was a penalty for losing his fantasy football league and suspected that his unusual date night might catch people's attention.
"I kind of assumed it was going to happen. As I was sitting down, I already saw like six phones recording me,"
Henry remembered about his peculiar evening out.
"I knew sooner or later the video was going to be somewhere."
He told WNCT9 about his plans to alter his approach to fantasy football next season to avoid a repeat public spectacle.
"It didn't work out so well. We'll switch it up this year," Henry remarked.
