On a particularly boring day during this endless lockdown, this man decided to break a world record and that's exactly what he did. After stacking 5 m&m's, he broke the previous record of 4 and gave himself the best interview opener ever.
This British guy broke a whole world record during the lockdown. What did you do? If it makes you feel any better, his world record was actually stacking 5 m&m’s. That’s it.
A civil engineer at his day job, Will Cutbill was having a particularly boring day and feeling puckish. Deciding to grab a candy bar from his snack cabinet, he changed his mind at the last second to grab a pack of m&m’s instead and the rest was history. World record-breaking history.
He had broken the record on Jan 31st, 2021. The previous record which was jointly held by an Italian and Australian, Will’s sheer will won him the title this year instead.
In an interview with Guinness, he said, "One day in lockdown I was mixing up my confectionary choice, usually I'm a chocolate bar type of guy but this time the bag of M&M's called me and boy am I glad they did!
"At first it wasn't very many until one day I thought right let's crack this, so I sat down very determined to complete it. As you can tell from my video [I] was absolutely ecstatic when I achieved it!"
The video shows the tiny tower toppling multiple times before he finally beat the record.
When asked about his balancing talents, he said, “My balance is awful I can barely stand on one leg! But I have a talent for chocolate - of any variety stacked, balanced, or just simply eaten!”
That’s something we can definitely get behind.
He also mentioned that he had always wanted to break a world record and now you have it, he’s finally just gone and done it.
"I've had a lifelong ambition to break a Guinness World Records title, I've always wanted one. I've bought the books every year and have always dreamed of one day reading my name in it,"
And his big celebration? Eating the 5 m&m’s that he had just stacked to break the record.
According to Will, he’s just started. He will now be testing other world records that he can break.
"This has inspired me, I want to let my creative juices flow, see what else I may be good at and then attack it with the same determination I did here!"
BRB buying a pack of m&m’s.
