#1 Star KIC 8462852
The star KIC 8462852 is roughly 1400 light years away from Earth. Planets are orbiting the star, but that's not what is strange about the star. 20% of the light from the star is getting blocked by something huge, which means it is not a planet. To put this into perspective, Jupiter, our solar systems biggest planet only blocks our suns light by 1%.
#2 Dyson Sphere
A Dyson Sphere is an object that can be built around a star in order to get most of the energy from it. The way it works is to put solar panels on it, and get the energy that way. This could easily explain why 20% of the light from the star is randomly getting blocked.
#3 They aren't comets!
For it to be comets, there would have to be over 640,000 HUGE comets orbiting the sun in one bunch, which is near impossible. Thus, the Dyson Sphere theory is very possible.
#4 Kepler Telescope
The Kepler Telescope found KIC 8462852, and has been tracking it ever since. It is a very power telescope, however a new telescope which will be put into orbit in the late 2010's will be used to see the star. The new telescope will be about 200x more powerful, meaning a better viewing of the star to find out more about it.
#5 Aliens
The life form that built this Dyson Sphere must be much more advanced than us. Also, the fact that they are 1500 light years away from us, means that they've done 1500 more years of work than we have. They could be living on many other stars around them by know. We won't know much until 2018.
