In the horrifying plunge at a residential complex in Phuket, Thailand, Russian model Evgenia Smirnova, 37, died from head injuries and a fractured leg.

Police are examining clumps of hair found in Smirnova's palm for DNA, and have reason to think she was at the Emerald Terrace complex on the eighth floor for a "sex, drugs, and alcohol party."

The model landed in Phuket on May 25 and was streaming footage on her adult site just before she died.

Smirnova, a Russian national who lives in Moscow after moving from her homeland of Nizhny Novgorod, is said to have visited Thailand previously.

Following Smirnova's unfortunate death, two men, American Jamaal Antwaun Smith, 38, and Jordanian national Ahmad Radi Mustafa Alatoom, 28, were seized and questioned in connection with her killing.

According to police investigations, the apartment where Smirnova was found had traces of "sex, narcotics, and alcohol."

She said her lawyer had asked her not to say anything but said: "The case is not complicated because we are not guilty.”

"The only thing I can say is that this was an unfortunate incident, but it was not a murder, and none of the people involved are to blame.”

"We were held in a cage, but they let us go."

"I didn't know the girl, she just arrived at the party where we were," the 35-year-old said, denying reports that the party was a sex-oriented romp loaded with booze and illicit substances.

"And she called her friend [Ahmad Radi Mustafa Alatoom], who came, too, and behaved inappropriately. I can say that me and my friend [Jamaal Antwaun Smith], who I have known for a long time, behaved with dignity and decency.”

"I am just a tourist here…I've been living here for five months. I’m an ordinary tourist. It was a regular boozefest - someone dies here every day."

Police Lieutenant Colonel Chomphunuch Anantayakun said that Simonova "might have accidentally fallen from the balcony" but warned, "it could be a homicide resulting from an argument.”

"The hair in the woman's hand will go through DNA testing to find who it belonged to.”
