#1 You're never expected to act ladylike.
In fact if you do, you probably get made fun of.
#2 You have built-in "guy speak" translators.
Not sure how to read his signals? Just ask your bros.
#3 And you get to be their "girl speak" translator.
They're always so amazed when you're exactly right, too.
#4 They're like bodyguards you don't have to pay.
If, like me, you didn't have an older brother, this is a priceless service.
#5 You're included in guy only activities because you "don't count."
And this is the one time in life when that's a huge compliment.
#6 You can always get an honest opinion. Sometimes brutally honest.
But for some reason it never really makes you mad
#7 You get called "dude" a lot.
Which inevitably means you call people "dude" a lot.
#8 No one you date is good enough for you.
(And no one they date is good enough for them.)
#9 You never feel pressured to eat like a bird.
No matter how much you have on your plate, it's less than theirs.
#10 There's almost never any drama.
You can chill for hours. In silence. And it's awesome.
#11 And when there is, it's over quickly.
Sometimes in mere minutes.
#12 You don't have to analyze conversations to find the hidden meaning.
They just say it like they see it. Which sounds harsh but is actually awesome.
#13 People assume you're dating. Allllll the freaking time.
You get really good at laughing this off.
#14 Parents, especially mothers, are VERY skeptical of your true intentions.
I can't tell you how much side-eye I've endured for daring to hang out with someone's precious son after dark.
#15 They teach you things about music, sports, video games, and other general nerdiness.
And this knowledge impresses the crap out of whomever you do end up dating.
#16 You don't have to pretend to hate things you love.
They love those things too!
#17 You have to deal with jealous girlfriends on the regular.
And sometimes they take her side and pretend like they can't hang out with you anymore.
#18 But if they're true friends, you always end up back together again.
And you stay together...through college (and grad school), cross-country moves, and yes, even serious relationships.
That's just what bros do.
