‘What’s Her Instagram?’: Men Hilariously Fail at Recognising AI Woman.

When the AI apocalypse comes, the men won’t see it coming because it turns out that they’re completely unable to recognize AI.

With its rapid progression over these last few years, gone are the days when six fingers would be the ultimate tip-off. It’s becoming more and more difficult to tell reality apart from AI.

Yet, there is an uncanny valley effect that some people are able to discern if they look closely.

TikTok account @looksounique took to a group of people and asked them what they thought of an AI-generated image. 

"Do you think this image is AI-generated or real?"

A beautiful blue-eyed woman with strawberry blonde hair stumped all of the men with one even asking what her Instagram was.

One said, "Do you think this image is AI-generated or real?" while another added, “She has so many details.”

When asked how they arrived at their decision that she was not AI, one stated, "I'm looking for six fingers, but she's not showing anything." Another said that the high quality and clarity of the picture was due to the ‘great camera’.

The women on the other hand were not so easily fooled. All of them knew it was fake right off the bat. “It’s just giving AI” and “She looks cartoony” were some of the comments.

Some of the things that tipped them off were, “Her eyes, her ears, the color around her pupil, it looks like it's faked." Another added, "The mouth also looks unreal."

Commenters were shocked that the men in the video were so easily fooled. "For me, it’s the inconsistency of what’s in focus. The eye on the right is much sharper than the one on the left."

Others were a little more forgiving. "It's not that AI is so good. We are just used to heavily edited photography."
