According to reports, Will Smith is "hurt and embarrassed" by Chris Rock's jokes about him.

You might remember Smith slapping Rock in the face at the Oscars last year, which seemed to generate nonstop news all over the world.

Rock talked about the slap in a brand-new Netflix stand-up show almost a year after it happened.

The comedian made light of Jada Pinkett Smith's alleged affair in Selective Outrage and joked that the blow still hurts.

The 58-year-old also quipped: "I have rooted for Will Smith my whole life I've rooted for this motherf****r. And now I watch Emancipation just to see him get whooped."

Despite the fact that the jokes were a success at the Hippodrome Theater in Baltimore, it appears that Smith is less amused by them than one might assume.

The jokes have left the star "hurt and embarrassed," a source told Entertainment Tonight. They claimed he hasn't seen the special but was informed of the gags and disagreed with Netflix's choice to broadcast the show.

Smith would like Rock to "let it go," the insider further stated.

In case you forgot, the shocking incident happened while the King Richard actor and his wife Jada were watching the 2022 Academy Awards.

Rock, who was hosting, joked about Jada using a G.I. Jane reference to her bald head.

The Fresh Prince actor was seen screaming, "Keep my wife's name out of your f***ing mouth," in response to the joke.

He then neared the stage and hit Rock in the face.

Even though the awards show went on and Smith even brought home the Best Actor award, he later had to deal with the fallout.

Today Smith appears to have accepted it and has even shared jokes about it, which is a marked contrast to the somber apology he posted on Instagram after the slap (pun intended).

The 54-year-old said: "Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night's Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable.

"Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada's medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.

"I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.

"I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees, and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us.

"I am a work in progress."

Smith was then banned from going to any Academy activities for ten years.
