Let's face it, we've all been there—hungry and impatient, waiting in a fast-food drive-thru line that seems to be moving slower than we hoped.

While it can be a minor inconvenience, it's hardly a situation worth making a fuss over.

However, this particular couple in Alberta, Canada, at a McDonald's drive-thru, seemed to think otherwise.

They demanded a refund after what appears to have been a disagreement over the wait time for their order.

The situation escalated when the man driving started recording the McDonald's employee during their argument.

In a tit-for-tat response, the employee began filming him as well.

The man, clearly upset, said: "If you're refunding my money, you have to give me cash."

When the employee inquired if they had paid with a debit card, he dismissively replied: "It doesn't matter."

His insistence grew stronger as he said, "If you're not giving me my food I want my money back in cash," despite the employee's attempt to explain that she was merely asking them to wait a bit longer for some freshly prepared food, not denying them their order altogether.

The situation took a turn for the worse when the woman in the passenger seat joined the conversation, questioning the McDonald's employee's background in a manner that quickly spiraled into rudeness.

"You're in Edmonton, where are you from? [...] Here we speak English," she said, before disrespectfully telling the employee to "get a career" and "do something for your life."

The man then threatened legal action, claiming he would initiate "a big lawsuit tomorrow" and sue both the employee and McDonald's, as he was recording the exchange.

The female passenger's remarks grew even more offensive as she suggested the employee should "go back to where she came from."

Despite the man boasting about his 50,000 Instagram followers, the video did not have the effect he anticipated.

Instead, it led to widespread criticism of the couple's behavior, culminating in the woman reportedly losing her job.

The video, which went viral after being shared on the YEGWAVE X page, caught the attention of the woman's employer.

The owner and acting general manager, Marco, reached out to the page to announce her termination.

In his message, Marco stated:

"We do not condone that type of language and she is no longer employed at this company."

"This video does not reflect the values or viewpoints of the employees who work here or the family that owns this business."

"All four of our grandparents were immigrants to Canada as well as many of our employees."

He expressed his disgust at the former employee's actions and requested that his response be highlighted and shared on behalf of the business, emphasizing a clear stance against the behavior displayed in the video.
