Lauren explained in another TikTok video:

So I was 17 and I farted really loud and it suddenly felt like I had laid an egg like I was sitting on a tennis ball in my bed like I was lying on top of one,

I couldn't get comfortable and I'm walking around and I feel like something is, like did I s – – t myself? Like something is out.

Her research led her to believe that she had experienced a uterine prolapse, which is a condition that occurs when the uterus slips down from its normal position and protrudes into the vagina.

Turns out my uterus fell out, which doesn't usually happen until you're in your mid-70s when your pelvic floor decides it has given up,

Turns out when you push when you poop, it weakens your pelvic floor so much that your uterus could fall out or your rectum and you just have to stick it back in,

Lauren's experience highlighted the reality of uterine prolapse, a condition that occurs when the pelvic floor muscles and ligaments weaken to the point where they cannot support the uterus, allowing it to slip down into or protrude from the vagina.

As Lauren correctly explained, this condition can occur due to a range of factors, including pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, and obesity.

It is essential to note that while uterine prolapse is not uncommon, it can cause discomfort and may lead to more severe complications if left untreated. Seeking medical attention is crucial to addressing this condition promptly and effectively.

Uterine prolapse is a condition that can affect people who have had one or more vaginal births, especially after menopause.

According to the Mayo Clinic, this condition usually does not require treatment unless it causes significant discomfort or other complications.

Lauren's experience of having her uterus prolapse underscores the importance of seeking medical attention when we feel that something is wrong, regardless of the time of day.

In Lauren's case, she was unsure of what to do and attempted to wake her mother up at 3 a.m. to take her to the hospital. Unfortunately, her mother brushed off her concerns, leaving her feeling alone and frightened.

Despite feeling frightened and alone, Lauren ultimately respected her mother's decision to wait until the next day to seek medical attention.

Lauren understood that her mother was unable to walk well due to a recent hip replacement, which limited their options. Feeling unsure of what else to do, Lauren returned to bed, hoping her body would somehow rectify the situation.

Luckily for Lauren, while she was sleeping, her uterus "worked its way back into" her body, alleviating her discomfort and concerns.

While it is fortunate that Lauren's uterus corrected itself, it is crucial to remember that uterine prolapse is a medical condition that requires appropriate care and attention.

She eventually visited the hospital approximately 18 hours after the initial incident occurred.

The nurses were taken aback and found it amusing when Lauren shared her experience with them, and they helped her "get it all the way back in." Lauren, in turn, reassured her viewers that everything was okay.

Lauren rated her uterine prolapse a mere two out of ten on a pain scale, describing the sensation as if she were "sitting on an egg" rather than experiencing any significant discomfort.

While Lauren was fortunate that her uterine prolapse wasn't particularly painful or severe, she emphasized that the condition is unlikely to occur in other young women and was likely exacerbated by her preexisting intestinal issues.

Lauren has Irritable Bowel Syndrome, a chronic condition that can cause severe constipation, which may have contributed to the development of her uterine prolapse.

Although Lauren has not experienced any additional uterine-related medical problems since her initial experience, she still becomes anxious in certain situations.

She told BuzzFeed:

Sometimes I feel [my uterus] slipping when I cough, sneeze, lift, or strain, and it scares me every time. I asked my primary care physician to refer me to a new gynecologist a few months ago, but I haven’t heard back,

Experts suggest kegel exercises or pelvic floor therapy to help strengthen the muscles in that area.

Lauren’s situation wasn’t the strangest thing that doctors have seen going on down there.

Lauren's story on TikTok garnered a lot of attention, and many people were curious about her experience, leading to a flood of comments with questions.

Someone asked, "i completely understand if you don’t want to answer but are u infertile now or is everything back to “normal”?"

"Wait so now I have to worry about my uterus falling out naturally when I’m old?", another added.

"the caption scares me cus I'm pooping right now." someone commented.

Another TikToker said, "Wait so when I’m 70 I’m gonna push out my uterus?? What the hell am I going to do with it?? Flush it down the toilet??"
