Woman Suing Police After Officers Slam Her To The Ground Breaking 4 Bones In Her Face

A model has filed a law suit against Bay Area Rapid Transit Police Department, after officers allegedly slammed her to the ground breaking four bones in her face. Footage from police security and body cameras recorded a part of the incident.

Megan Sheehan was drunk on the night of St. Patrick's Day in 2014, when she was arrested by police officers on counts of public intoxication after they found her passed out at a train station. Sheehan claims they used excessive force on her.

The footage shows Sheehan and an officer arguing after she allegedly peed in the back of a squad car. Sheehan is also seen throwing her hair tie at an officer, moments before getting slammed face down to the ground, leaving her lying unconscious in her own blood.

Sheehan plans to amend her lawsuit to include the city of Oakland, as well as an Oakland police officer she claims held her hand back during the fall.

The officers' actions were "willful, wanton, reckless, malicious, oppressive and/or done with a conscious or reckless disregard" for Sheehan's rights, according to the lawsuit.

Sheehan was left bloodied and bruised by the incident.

She required a brace for weeks after the incident as well as surgery.
