There have been plenty of studies and anecdotes looking at the keys to a long life. From reading books to eating more bacon to getting more exercise to even avoiding men, there seem to be plenty of ways to prolong your life. But one 103-year-old woman may have just found the best-kept secret to adding a few more years: beer.
Woman Turning 103 Thanks Beer For Her Unusually Long Life

Everyone loves a cold beer. Everyone. Well, not everyone. My mum doesn't and Sam, the guy who does our videos, will only drink it if pressed more of a cider man

But never mind Sam's tipple, he's wrong. How do we know? Well, 102-year-old Mildred Bowers thanks a cold pint of beer every day for her longevity.
"It's all in the genes," the South Carolina woman told NBC. "I feel OK because I'm in good health.
Have a beer, doctor's orders."

She said that she got the go ahead from her doctor when she proclaimed her love of the golden nectar with nurses and, now, she has a pint every day at 4pm.
When asked if she thought all pensioners should follow suit, she said
"Look, there are people who don't like coffee and people who don't like tea. I want everyone to drink what they like."

'm just going to break out a little maths here to figure out how much longer I have. Let's assume that Mildred started drinking at the same age as I did. The average age of death in the US is 78 which gives her a solid 62 years of having a pint everyday. She's now 102 which means she's lived 24 years longer than average which means that each beer equates to 0.38 extra days to Mildred's life (so far). With that in mind and the average age of death in the UK being 81, I stand to live in excess 201 years. Cool.
Thanks for the life advice, Mildred. Live long and prosper.
