Woman asks husband for divorce after he constantly asks her to watch his kids but doesn’t allow them to bond with her or call her mom.
Woman Wants Divorce After Husband Asks Her to Watch His Kids
Woman asks Reddit whether she was in the wrong for refusing to watch her husband's kids when he decided to go on a trip for his friend's bachelor party.
OP said that when the two met he had made it clear that she would not be filling a motherly role for his children.
When they got married, they upheld the same agreement where OP was not responsible for them since the ex had primary custody of the children.
This changed when his ex died and OP agreed to step up and do more for the children.
She took on cooking, pickup, homework, and other responsibilities. She also said that her husband was upset since he never wanted children in the first place.
She said that all these responsibilities were not something she had signed up for.
The final straw came when he wanted to leave for a weekend trip leaving her solely in charge of the children.
She said that children had never been alone before and that they were sensitive with their mother's recent passing.
He was upset at her responses and said that OP wasn't being fair. She felt his priorities were not in the right place.
In an update, she further clarified that while she was taking on all these responsibilities, she was still not allowed to discipline them and that her husband would scream at the kid if they accidentally called her mom.
She had a chat with her husband after making the post where her husband wanted her to step up more but still didn't agree to her adopting them, disciplining them, or being their step-mother.
They talked more but the conversation went nowhere.
OP was not happy with being a live-in nanny and told him that she was rethinking the relationship.
Commenters sympathized with the children having no one willing to put them first.
Others were on OP's side saying that she was put in a corner with all the conditions that her husband had placed on her in this situation.
