Beautician Sirin Murad learned the toughest lesson of her life after she forgot to wear her sunscreen out in the sun.

The woman was left with a plastic forehead after she fell asleep on the beach for only 30 minutes.

Murad was enjoying her holiday in Bulgaria back in June when the incident happened.

The 25-year-old drifted off by a pool in the 21ºC weather without putting sunscreen on and woke up half an hour later.

Although her face was slightly sore and red after the nap, she didn't think too much of it and continued relaxing during her time off.

However, the next day she realized the gravity of her mistake as she sported an experiment painful and red face. Sirin's skin was so tight that when she furrowed her eyebrows it looked like plastic.

Rather than go to the nearest doctor, the holidaymaker chatted about the issue with her family and they decided to avoid getting medical attention as Sirin didn't think it could get much worse.

She was wrong.

The very next day her face began to peel and she was covered in patches of tanned skin and pink skin.

Sirin, from London, said: "At first it really didn’t feel like anything – it just felt a bit sore when I put pressure on it.

"It really hurt the next day but I actually got some relief when it started peeling. It didn’t hurt and I felt much better.

"Weirdly, my skin is great now. It even feels better than before, almost like it’s renewed."

The incident happened 7 weeks back and Murad's skin is much better and healing now with only a little discoloration left on her cheeks.

The beautician is using this incident as a chance to raise awareness about staying safe while spending time in the sun.

As mentioned, this incident was caused by just 21ºC weather, whereas the UK reached record-breaking temperatures of up to 40ºC amid the recent heatwave.

She continued: "No matter how much you think that you’ll be fine or that your skin will not burn, always apply sunscreen. It’s definitely worth it.

“In my case, I genuinely forgot. I usually would do, but it just slipped my mind."
