A woman found herself with what she believes to be the 'ugliest tattoo in the world', despite its small size and simple concept.
For many, getting inked is a big deal, while for others, it's just another playful mark on their body's canvas.
Unfortunately, a woman from Florida is probably wishing she had thought twice before getting her particular tattoo.
Marie Armstrong, who shares her life snippets under the username Marieaarm on TikTok, confesses that looking at her tattoo every day nearly brings her to tears.
That's quite a statement.
In a video that has captured the attention of over 114,000 viewers, Armstrong delved into the specifics of her disappointment.
It's a relief that the tattoo is small, positioned on her index finger, rather than covering a larger area like a shoulder or arm.
Yet, it seems the sight of it still causes her considerable distress.
The design was intended to depict a half-peeled banana.
Initially, after getting the tattoo, Armstrong was pleased with it.
The banana tattoo was a fun addition to the assortment of small tattoos adorning her fingers and hands.
However, over time, the tattoo began to fade, and Armstrong decided it was time for a touch-up, a process she had previously undergone with her other finger tattoos.
"You could not tell what it was. I didn't even count it as a tattoo," Armstrong remarked about the faded tattoo.
"So when my boyfriend told me he had a tattoo appointment and that he was getting a tattoo done by this artist who's really good," she continued, "I was like, I'll go with you and I'll get my banana re-done."
"I show him a picture of right when I got the banana done the first time, and he goes ahead and starts free-handing, like, adding on the rest of the banana to what he can already see and sketching it," she explained.
"I didn't really expect him to print [a] stencil because, like, you'd have to size it perfectly," Armstrong went on.
"So I'm like freehand, fine. You're an artist, like, this is what you do, you know what you're doing."
But when the time came to reveal the refreshed tattoo, Armstrong's reaction was far from what she had hoped.
She found herself fighting back tears at the sight.
Without mincing words, it's hard to find the right description for it, but it certainly doesn't resemble a banana.
"I look at it, and I am trying to not cry. Like, I know that these are stupid, silly, little, goofy tattoos and maybe to you, like, it doesn't matter how the f–k they look, but I actually care," Armstrong expressed her dismay over the end result.
Now, Armstrong is crossing her fingers, hoping the tattoo fades as it did previously.
In the meantime, she braces for the reactions of her social media followers, who are likely to tease her about the almost-banana etched on her finger.
