An 18-year-old girl from Brooklyn identified as Gabrielle Canales on social media has been called out for stealing from an Uber driver. She posted several photographs on social media on August 12, the same day she stole an Uber drivers money.

Canales posed in the same bra and skirt on Instagram which she wore in the car. After her identity was revealed she deleted all photos from August 12.

The shocking viral clip had shown two women and a man taking a cab in New York City before Canales sat in the middle seat and pinched cash from the tip box. Apparently, the woman in question gave zero shits. She didn't seem to care she was being filmed.

At one point, she seems to reconsider, retracting her hand from the box with a jolt but then she decided to go for it anyway. Her two friends in the car seemed unaware of her plot and did not respond as she stole the money before getting out.

By the time the taxi driver glanced and noticed what had happened she'd legged it the fuck out of there. The video was first published on YouTube in August but has since gained attention again this weekend.

The Uber statement read: “We understand your frustration with this experience. We’ve attempted to contact the rider by phone and email, but haven’t been able to resolve this issue.

“The rider responded to us and advised us that she didn't steal your cash from the tip jar. If you believe the rider has your cash as captured from your dash cam and is refusing to return it, you may want to initiate a formal investigation via the police.”

A spokesperson for Uber told MailOnline:

"What's been shown has no place on our app and the rider's access to the app has been removed."

It is not clear whether or not police have investigated it.
