A snap of a beautiful reunion after four decades. 38-year-old Amanda met the nurse who cared her through Facebook appeal.

Amanda had severe burns by hot steam vaporizer in her head and fingers. She was kept in the hospital for many days.

#4 She went through many reconstructive surgeries even after growing up.

She shared her experience like this: ‘Growing up as a child, disfigured by the burns, I was bullied and picked on, tormented. I'd look at those pictures and talk to her, even though I didn't know who she was. I took comfort looking at this woman, who seemed so sincere, caring for me.'

#5 They amazingly saw each other in the medical center just a day back.

‘Oh my God, you're real, thank you!' were Amanda's words when she saw Susan. Susan also thanked her.

Susan was just 21 when she happened to cradle Amanda when she was three-month-old. The photo was taken by Carl Howard and was published in Albany Medical Center's annual report in 1977. Susan's name was not included in the report, so Amanda knew nothing about Susan. She searched Susan for 20 years.

#7 Susan Berger finds herself lucky and is extremely happy to see Amanda again.

Now, she supervises a health center in New York and soon she will be ending her career.

#9 The reunion was possible when Amanda posted the photographs on Facebook.

She got the photos from the annual report of Albany Medical Center published in 1977.
