A woman shared a TikTok video of her cleared out apartment which the landlord had mistakenly cleated out. The cleaners threw away all her furniture and personal items.
Woman’s Landlord Accidentally Threw Away All Her Furniture
Myrohn Guthrie lives a quiet life in her apartment with her two sons which up until recently was rather comfortably furnished.
Much to her annoyance, however, she came home to an unpleasant sight where all of her personal items and furniture were missing.
“My apartment complex cleaned out the wrong apartment. Me and my kids stuff are literally gone. A fully furnished apartment empty.”
Guthrie claims she may have lost up to $32,000 worth of furniture. What was more upsetting to her however was the fact that they also took family pictures and identification cards and documents.
She later posted an update where she explained that she had not suspected a robbery upon her return because there were no signs of forced entry.
Soon enough, she received confirmation that the management company of her apartment complex had cleared her apartment out.
The mix up in the address was due to one letter that had been miscommunicated.
Guthrie who was expecting more than just a simple apology was surprised at their lack of accountability.
“They were just telling me they were so sorry, they messed up. They didn’t offer me anything. Only thing they told me to do was I needed to make a list of everything I lost and email it to them.”
Commenters were also calling out Guthrie, thinking that the situation was perhaps staged.
Guthrie made several response videos addressing these questions.
Guthrie has since moved out and claims she will no longer live in the same building. She said she expected a cheque to have been offered to her.
Commenters however decided the best thing to do would be to remind her of all the expensive items she had at her home and should definitely go on her replacement list.
This included million-dollar heirlooms and Birkin bags apparently.
