A stepmother tried to expel her stepdaughter from the house but soon she realizes that the house where she lives is not in her husband's name and it belongs to the stepdaughter.
Woman’s Stepmom Tries To Kick Her Out Not Knowing The Stepdaughter Actually Owns The House
Going about things the way you do while being unaware of something can result in some humorous scenarios. If it doesn't wind up being funny due to genuine awkwardness and shame, it will probably end up being angry or another form of fury due to the self-humiliation you just experienced.
Other results are undoubtedly possible, but not now. Today's story is about a woman who tried to expel her husband's daughter from their home but was rejected by the fact that she has no authority in this place. As a result, the story concluded in the latter and ended up on r/AITA for everyone to judge who the real a-hole is. But the daughter does.
Being ignorant about something can be amusing or frustrating, especially if you discover it in the heat of the moment.
Recently, a 29-year-old woman asked for advice from the r/AITA community regarding a disagreement she had with her dad's wife.
According to the story, her father wed Maria, whom he had been dating for four years, a year ago. He had always desired to purchase a larger home for them to reside in, but he was unable to do so without first selling his current one. Because it was a special property, as the OP pointed out, selling was not an option.
What was, however, was that OP's husband could purchase the new residence; it was a lovely area, so possessing the property of this nature wouldn't be in vain. The dad was cool with this arrangement as long as the wife was kept in the dark. That didn't bother OP either didn't really make much of it.
But this time, it sparked a ferocious rage that resulted in a family dispute and a later Reddit option for online arbitration.
Well, OP recently traveled back home from living abroad, spending half the time with her dad. She felt a sense of impending doom coming from Maria the entire time she was there. Maria actually seemed to make it plain that OP was "a hassle" How? "Doing things with my dad" and being irritating.
This continued for a while, but the final straw came when Maria entered OP's room and noticed dad's dog lazing on the bed. The dog was not supposed to be on the beds, it turned out. Additionally, it seemed reasonable if it were their bed, but OP believed the dog could relax on her bed. But the stepmother was not amused by that.
According to the story, a daughter visited her father at a home she owned, but he urged her not to disclose the ownership to her stepmom.
When OP finally lost her respect for her, she snapped, declaring that enough was enough and that OP needed to leave. OP was informed that Maria had the power to defuse the situation after an unsuccessful attempt to do so. She assumed she could because she is his wife and he is the owner of the property, despite OP's pleading that it was if anything, ludicrous that she would evict her without even speaking to the father.
This is where the plot takes a turn.
Stepmom was so irritated with the daughter that it resulted in a heated confrontation in which she attempted to remove the daughter.
I simply laughed, said OP. She laughed before pointing out that legally, the house belongs to the OP and the deed is in her name. They should therefore wait for dad to get home. However, OP might have legally made the decision as to who stays and who does not in the specified residence if they had been granted this ability. Technically.
Maria left in a rage. Dad soon returned home and had a conversation with both of them, yelling clearly heard during his exchange with the wife. During the final two days that OP was present, Maria avoided speaking to any of them.
As a result, the dad became angry with OP for violating his prohibition and notifying Maria about the ownership.
The stepmother had no idea that the daughter was the rightful owner, and she only found out at the worst possible time.
She also received texts from Maria's children accusing her of being rude and treating them like guests on top of everything else. However, OP pointed out that she is more likely a tenant than a guest. Whatever the situation, she believes that Maria had no right to evict her from her own property, but she can't get rid of the thought that she should have waited for her father to come and handle it instead of speaking up.
She didn't speak to either of them for two days as a result, and dad was furious with the daughter as well. However, the internet had other thoughts.
Numerous comments made online led to the conclusion that the person was not an a-hole. Overall, despite multiple attempts to calm her down, most elaborated that she is essentially on a power trip. In a way, OP was forced to tell her the truth.
This is in addition to concerns about why the father is hiding the ownership of the property in the first place and why he didn't take into account all the rubbish she told his daughter. Let alone the arrogant "inconvenience" comment.
