No more wearing socks for comfort. Now wear or safe keep socks as a token of your wealth!
Back in the old days, socks were used as nothing more than just covers for your feet. A simple yet useful body accessory that could be worn in all seasons. With winter approaching, the thought of cosy and snug woollen attire and a hot cup of cocoa seem ideal for us commoners. But for the rich? Correction, filthy rich- things just got even more money dirty.
The German fashion label FALKE, has launched its latest version of socks that only and I mean ONLY the rich and fashion conscious can afford. Made from the world’s most expensive and rarest wool, Vicuña wool, the socks are a status marker for all those who can afford its £726 price tag! Moreover, for those who envy it, there are only 10 pairs that are up for grabs making them even more desirable.

They are made from the Peruvian member of the llama family known as the Vicuña. The wool of these animals is so hard to come by because it can only be taken from a wild animal and be sheered once every 2 years! The fibre being extremely delicate to withstand any dyeing process, forcing the socks to come in only one shade, which is their natural golden hue. Each pair comes with its own presentation box too.
If that’s not enough, the label has also produced its own range of limited edition wool V necklines and pullovers too. Each costing a whopping £2015! Now that’s just downright sinful if you ask me.

Unfortunately, these golden haired creatures are on the endangered species list and cannot be domesticated. So long to socks being just leg warmers. :/
