Sitting on the toilet does not allow for the colon to be in the proper position, and can cause hernias, inflammatory bowel disease, colon cancer, diverticulosis, and hemorrhoids.

This theory is confirmed by the standard medical text, Bockus's Gastroenterology, from 1964, which says that the squatting position is the perfect posture for defecation and the thighs need to be fixed upon your abdomen.
