The timely help and gentle care of these young teenage boys helped to rescue this newborn beluga whale. Upon finding the mammal ashore, the boys immediately started pouring water on the animal in hopes that it won't dry out. Till that time they called the rescue services so that the cub can be released back in the water and hopefully reunite with its mother.
A family vacation on the St. Lawrence River in Canada turned into a rescue mission for these teenage boys when a newborn beluga whale washed ashore.
15-year-old Nicholas Milliard shared how he and his younger brothers managed to save the animal. The compassionate boys revealed that they kept on pouring water on the animal to prevent it from drying out.

“We made a hole so that water could accumulate there and hydrate its skin,” says Milliard.

The Quebec family immediately decided to call the rescuers and tried their best to care for the cub until help from the specialists arrived.
Rescuers upon arriving on the scene returned the animal to the water.

The animal was released back into the water with hopes that it will reunite with its mother or some other beluga whale that will lead the cub back to his mother.
Beluga whales take care of their cub for two years and without maternal support, it is not possible for the cub to survive on its own.

There used to be a time when thousands of beluga whales lived in the St. Lawrence River, now their population has decreased to 900, and the reason for everything is the pollution of the reservoir.

All thanks to the efforts of these kind boys that there is a chance that this cub will be reunited with its mother!
