The doting dad bought Mompha Jr his very first mansion to celebrate his sixth birthday back in 2019, reportedly writing on social media at the time: “Owning your own home is one of the best feelings ever. It can’t be described in words, it can’t be quantified in money.”

“Homeownership is a feeling that makes life’s daily grind worth facing. It reassures you that after all the ups and downs you have a place to go to…. A place that will never judge you and always invite you with open arms…”

According to the newspaper, he is currently facing criminal charges after being suspected of laundering more than £10 million, with a court hearing earlier this month hearing claims that he hid his fortune immovable assets, such as luxury watches, by Nigeria's anti-corruption agency.

He was released on bail for £350,000 ($469,000) after being remanded in custody to await trial.

Mompha's lawyer, Gboyega Oyewole, claimed that his client had never skipped bail or missed a court appearance.

As per Lagos Today, Oyewole said: “When he had Covid-19, his medical details were registered outside the country. We attached all the reports to the letter I signed to send to EFCC [Economic and Financial Crimes Commission], to assure the commission that by January my client will have fully recuperated and he did. He walked by himself to the EFCC as I promised. He was never arrested anywhere.”

Mompha's most recent Instagram image depicted him traveling, with the caption: "SkyMan has landed. About to make some billions in Lagos."
