21 Year Old Caught Her 73 Year Old Neighbour Who Was Stalking Her
When @seejoy moved to NYC into her first apartment she did not foresee the harrowing series of events that she would have to go through.
In a video posted to TikTok, she relayed the story of how her 73year old neighbour had started stalking her and turned her life into a living hell.
She starts the video by saying that she had moved into her apartment when she was 19. After moving in she met her 73-year-old neighbour who she could hear coughing a lot.
Soon she received a noise complaint after having friends over and later, a note underneath her door which started with “Dear Catherine.”
She said she found that strange because she doesn’t go by her full name Catherine.
The note said, “Dear Catherine, word’s getting around that you're a floozy who can't keep it in their pants.”
At the time, although the note was creepy, she was able to laugh it off.
Things were fine until one morning she woke up to see the man standing in her apartment behind her, watching her sleep. She said she always locks her front door and wasn’t sure how he could have gotten in.
She screamed at him to leave which he did. She called her parents and then the cops. After 7 cops showed up, they tried knocking on the neighbour's door but he didn’t answer.
When the police tried to approach the fire escape, the old man came out wearing a dressing gown and pretending to be asleep when according to her he had been fully dressed when he had trespassed into her home.
After some questioning, he was taken away for an evaluation. At this point, OP left for Long Island to stay with her parents. When she reached her mother’s home she found two postcards at her home. One was dated Nov 2019 and the other Feb 2020.
In the first one, the 73-year-old was complaining about a boy she was dating and the other one pertained to another man she had started seeing.
After reaching home, she found multiple notes that he had sent to her parent's address.
She speculated that he had found her parent’s address by going through mail-in her home while he was sneaking in there.
Commenters were sad that people were shocked at the police believing her because women often had dissimilar experiences.
Others urged her to escalate to the right authorities and take the man to court.
