63-year-old Cheryl and her 26-year-old husband are overjoyed to welcome a child to their family.
Cheryl and Quran McCain, a couple who have often been in the spotlight due to their significant age difference, have just shared some exciting news: they're expecting their first child together.
Cheryl, who is 63 and already a grandmother to 18, has found her relationship with 26-year-old Quran drawing considerable attention online.
Their unique story began years ago at a Dairy Queen where they first met when Quran was just 15.
At that time, there were no romantic sparks—just a simple workplace acquaintance.
However, fate brought them back together years later at a gas station, leading to a chance reconnection.
By then, Quran was 23 and after spending weeks together, he opened up about his feelings for Cheryl.
Their relationship officially started in April 2021, and they quickly decided to get married in September of that year.
They've been sharing their life through joint social media accounts ever since, much to the fascination and sometimes criticism of the public.
The path hasn't been smooth, particularly with Cheryl's family.
She revealed the strain it's caused within her personal life:
"I have seven kids but I only see one of them as the others do not support our relationship.
"It hurts me, it hurts me a lot. They were my whole life and all of a sudden I wanted to be married to someone I had fallen in love with and they didn't support that.
"I have 18 grandchildren and I only see three of them."
Recently, the couple announced they were expecting a baby via a surrogate.
Cheryl took to Instagram to share a TikTok video showing sonogram images, defiantly addressing her detractors with the caption:
‘You’re too old to be starting a family’ as she mimed: 'I don’t give a f**k, I got my mind made up'.
Both Cheryl and Quran have openly expressed their joy about the new addition to their family.
"It was an amazing feeling to find out we were going to have a baby. We get to start our own family. I am the happiest now than I have ever been before.
"It will make our family so much happier as we will love the baby unconditionally," Cheryl shared.
Quran echoed her sentiments, saying, "I cried with tears of joy when I found out. This will be my very first child.
"I have never felt love like this apart from the time I got married to Cheryl. Baby girl or baby boy it doesn't matter.
"I am having a baby and we are starting our life together. Even though Cheryl won't be the biological mother, blood doesn't make you family and she will be the best mom."
The journey to surrogacy was challenging. After three unsuccessful attempts in 2022, the couple was thrilled to learn that their fourth surrogate was pregnant in April 2024.
They visited the doctor together to confirm the pregnancy, marking a new chapter in their lives.
"It was such a special moment for us both. It is a brand new start, we live for our baby now. It will make our family so much happier as we will love the baby unconditionally," Cheryl said, reflecting on the experience.
Despite the mixed reactions from the public and a significant 37-year age gap, Cheryl and Quran remain unfazed and content in their relationship.
As they prepare for their new family member, they remain hopeful that this joyful event might help bridge the gaps with Cheryl’s other children.
The future holds new beginnings for Cheryl and Quran, and only time will tell if this new chapter will bring their family closer together.
