Exorcist Shares His Most Terrifying Cases That ‘prove’ The Devil Exists
A Catholic priest who has dedicated two decades of his life to performing exorcisms has shared some of the cases that convinced him the Devil is real.
Father Carlos Martins has spent nearly 20 years ministering, teaching, and engaging in exorcisms, a path that has led him to become widely recognized as an expert in exorcism, demonology, and spiritual warfare, according to his official website.
Through his work, he has been credited with freeing people from dark forces across the world. However, certain cases have stood out more than others, leaving a lasting impact on him.
An exorcism that took a violent turn
During one particularly intense exorcism, Martins said he witnessed a possessed woman demonstrate terrifying physical strength.
According to his account, she managed to grab one of the men trying to restrain her and hurled him over her head like he weighed nothing.
While many people might react aggressively if they were being held down, Martins insists that this wasn't just a case of adrenaline - it was something beyond human strength.
He emphasized that the man she threw was more than six feet tall and weighed over 300 pounds, making it almost impossible for her to have lifted him so easily under normal circumstances.
As the exorcism continued, things escalated even further, and Martins described witnessing something shocking.
He recalled: "The woman then pointed her finger at the nearest light switch on the wall, about twelve feet away. One of the screws holding the switch's cover plate unscrewed itself and darted into her open right hand through the air."
Then, to his horror, he claimed: "She drove it into her left forearm. Later, in the same session, she struck me in the face with such force that I needed two surgeries to repair the damage I sustained to my skull."
After everything he saw that day, Martins came to a chilling conclusion: "The Devil is real."
The case of the firefighter
Another case that cemented Martins' belief in demonic possession involved a firefighter, referred to as Jeremy, who came to his church seeking help.
Jeremy was in his late 20s when he approached Martins, desperate to understand why he was experiencing strange blackouts and waking up with unexplained injuries.
Despite his alarming symptoms, Jeremy was described as polite, soft-spoken, and kind. Martins decided to perform a series of prayers to determine whether a demonic presence was at play.
During their conversation, Martins learned that when Jeremy was just eight years old, he had experimented with a Ouija board. That moment, he believed, marked the beginning of his troubles.
Jeremy claimed that not long after using the board, he saw a dark figure standing in his bedroom.
Martins described what Jeremy recalled: "The figure was so black that, although the lights were off, everything else in the room looked like it was in broad daylight. Besides being intensely black, the only additional detail he recalled was that it had a human body but a cat's head."
Jeremy remembered the figure speaking to him, offering to grant him anything he desired in exchange for his soul. He had always dreamed of becoming a firefighter.
Martins then handed Jeremy a book with a single drop of Holy Water on the cover. As soon as Jeremy touched it, Martins said he “shot up out of his chair” and his body arched backward in an unnatural way.
Jeremy then reportedly screamed: "F**k you, priest! He is mine. He gave himself to me. You will never have him!"
At that moment, Martins realized he was no longer speaking to Jeremy, but to something else entirely.
Determined to help, he commanded: "In the name of Jesus, I command you to bring forth Jeremy."
He urged Jeremy to renounce the entity and claim Jesus as his Lord. According to Martins, that moment of defiance was what ultimately drove the demon away.
Martins has detailed these and other chilling encounters in his book, The Exorcist Files: True Stories About the Reality of Evil and How to Destroy It.
Despite his years of experience, he admits that his work is anything but enjoyable.
Reflecting on his career, he said: "Though it is a joy to do this work, I have never enjoyed meeting the Devil and his minions."
