Horrifying Simulation Shows What Happened To Man Who Got Stuck Behind A Fridge For 10 Years

In 2019, a group of workers was tasked with removing shelves and freezers from a defunct No Frills supermarket in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

This store had closed its doors in 2016 and was in the midst of being emptied out.

During the clearing process, the team came across human remains wedged in a gap behind one of the fridges.

With DNA samples from his parents, the remains were identified as those of Larry Ely Murillo-Moncada, who had vanished in 2009.

This meant that Larry had died within the store's walls seven years prior while it was still in operation.

He remained there for an additional three years after the store had permanently closed.

The investigators saw no signs of foul play or any suspicious activity.

They concluded that Larry had accidentally slipped into the 18-inch gap between the fridge and the wall, getting trapped.

His family had reported him missing the day after Thanksgiving in 2009.

They noted that he had left his home barefoot, hallucinating amid a blizzard.

The clothing found on the remains matched what he was wearing at the time he disappeared.

Larry had been an employee at that store. It was noted by former coworkers that climbing atop the units to stock them was not out of the ordinary.

The fridge was approximately 12 feet tall. Any attempts by Larry, who was 25 years old, to cry out for help would likely have been muffled by the noise from the cooling unit.

The authorities ruled his death as an accidental one.

The distressing simulation of what transpired with Larry suggests how terrible it would have been for him.

He was stuck behind a fridge with no means of escape and no one to hear him.

There were some who doubted this horrifying account, wondering why no one detected the smell of Larry's body despite him being trapped behind the fridge for a decade.

Nevertheless, the tragic truth remains that his body lay behind the fridge for several years.

This occurred while the store was still bustling with customers, who unknowingly walked past where he was concealed.

The fact that Larry wasn't found for 10 years, and only during the store's clearance, underscores the difficulty of detecting his presence there.
