On the surface, you might think, "What's the big deal?"

After all, tidying up a grave, especially one that looks like it hasn't seen care in ages, seems like a thoughtful thing to do, right?

However, it's not just the act of cleaning that's got people talking about @_the-clean_girl on social media.

It's the whole package—how she did it, what she said, and even how she sounded while doing it—that has caught the internet's collective eye.

In her TikTok video, which has raked in more than 18 million views, the influencer's choice of tone and delivery caught viewers off guard.

She spoke in a manner that many found eerily reminiscent of TikTok's automated voiceovers—oddly cheerful for a setting as solemn as a graveyard.

During the video, she shared: "I'm at the graveyard at night, cleaning this abandoned grave for free."

"I have so many questions in my head. What's happened? How did this grave get so dirty?"

"Who's buried here? Her name's Bienvenida. Wow, her name is welcome in Español."

She didn't stop there, expressing her dismay at the state of the grave:

"Right now this is the dirtiest grave I've ever seen. That's so unfair, everyone deserves a beautiful resting place."

And then musing about Bienvenida's life, she added, "I wonder what Bienvenida's life was like."

But then, in a turn that left many scratching their heads, she pondered, 'does she like chocolate cupcakes?' and proceeded to eat one on camera — a move that seemed out of place to many.

Viewers were puzzled by more than just her tone.

Some questioned her choice of props, like why she brought a shovel along for the cleaning process.

But the primary concern was her unsettlingly cheerful demeanor.

One viewer asked, "Why does she talk like that?" highlighting the disconnect between her tone and the setting.

Another commented: "There is absolutely nothing wrong with cleaning a neglected grave but the way she talks about this woman does not sit right with me at all," pointing out a sense of discomfort with the influencer's approach.

Critics argued that while cleaning a grave is indeed a kind act, the manner in which she capitalized on the deed, coupled with her tone, felt disrespectful.

"Yeah, she's doing a good deed then exploiting the deceased…also her tone is disrespectful… she could do these videos without being like that, people love to watch restoration content its not necessary," one comment read.

Interestingly, some users noted that other TikTok accounts handle similar content with a lot more grace and respect, diving into the histories of the deceased in a manner that honors their memory.

"There's a person that does something similar also on YouTube, and her tone is so much more respectful, and you can tell she only talks about the person's life to make sure they aren't forgotten it's really sweet," a user shared, highlighting how such content can be produced in a way that's both respectful and engaging.

In essence, while the influencer's heart might have been in the right place with her grave-cleaning project, her execution—particularly her tone and some of the choices she made during the video—left many feeling that this sensitive act deserved a more thoughtful approach.
