Social media users are loving a story about an airline passenger who was forced to deal with someone taking his assigned seat - only for karma to kick in at just the right moment.

We’ve all encountered inconsiderate people while traveling, but every once in a while, fate delivers a little justice when it’s least expected.

One traveler’s viral story proves that sometimes, you don’t even need to argue - just let things play out and enjoy the results.

Chase Cangelosi, a Texas resident, shared his experience on Threads.

He recounted how he was boarding a United Airlines flight from Mexico City to Austin when he noticed that a woman was already sitting in his designated window seat.

He explained: "I was boarding a plane and had an F (window) seat. I mention to the woman who was in my seat 'heyyy I'm seat F,' and she says 'I'm more comfortable here.' I said nothing else and sat in the middle."

"A few minutes later, she discovered her seat TV didn't work, while everyone else's did. She asked to switch back and I said 'no, I'm comfortable here'."

"Now I'm watching Bob's Burgers and she just has to look out the nighttime window."

After posting his experience online, Chase received plenty of support from people who admired his patience.

Many thought his calm but clever response was the best way to handle the situation.

One commenter reacted by saying: "She's so daring to ask for a switch again."

Another chimed in with: "Love when the universe pays out justice."

Someone else shared their own travel experience, writing: "I'm amazed at all the people who have someone unwilling to move when they are in the wrong seat. I've traveled a fair bit over the years and If I or anyone else has been in the wrong seat, it's been unintentional and is corrected immediately with an apology."

With so many people curious about the details, Chase decided to provide an update to clarify a few things.

He wrote: "Answering the comments here:"

"1. I didn't care enough to say anything more when she was in my seat (talking on the phone facing the window)"

"2. It was only a 50 min flight"

"3. I bring headphones but never bring anything else to do on planes under 3 hours"

"4. Yes, this is my real story. Today, seat 26F, United flight HOU to AUS, 6:28pm."

Talk about a perfect case of instant karma.
